What do you currently do, what are your business aspirations and what do you hope to benefit from by joining this community?
After studying video, film, photography, linguistics and public relations while playing in bands at The Ohio State University, I moved to Atlanta to pursue a broadcast and music career. I landed a job with the NBC-affiliate that lasted eleven years and then bounced around to the Warner Brothers affiliate as well as Crawford Communication’s world class post production facilities. All this while pursuing music during my off hours by singing out in the clubs, setting up my studio and making demos to send to record companies like Warner Brothers, Atlantic and LaFace.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get sign even after performing for the “Jack the Rapper” music convention on the same bill with New Kids on the Block (yes I’m that old), singing with Stevie Wonder and coming in second in the Atlanta Star Search competition. Such is life.

Fast forward to the present and I’ve been busy using my skills and experiences as an audio production professor at Columbus State Community College and running my own production company, Ruffhaus Media.

At Ruffhaus Media LLC, we specialize in music, audio and video production, photography, web design, graphics and animation. As a media artist, my focus is on ART through the “lens” of technology. Essentially, that means I use computer hardware and software to creatively PLAY in the digital domain. Go to www.kennyruffin.com and see me singing with "The Wonderman" himself.

Randy, I still haven't heard anything from your eLearning/Video referral. Could you please try again to make the connection? I also have some other business that has great potential.

Let's talk soon,

Kenny

Hey Ken, not to worry, its not till Nov 25th. I am looking for anyone to do any number of songs, even dropping by and playing one tune. Its a lot of fun and great exposure. this time we will be in the main lobby, the place I wanted from the beginning. I plan to play off and on and "change up" with others as they come in. I'm pretty much in charge and have a lot of flexibility to design it however. We are providing the background music for three hours, so we are not really "featured" as one might get the impression. We will be seen of course, but there is no stage, nor chairs lined up facing us etc. But people will stop and listen and move on all evening. Sometimes they ask for a business card. Sometimes I made a few tips. This will be the day before thanksgiving, so they are requesting a "festive" atmosphere, which can include singing christmas carols if you like. I plan on doing soundscapes like always, but add few more upbeat ones mixed in. I really like the idea of changing up with others and I am not to worried if you only want to do one song or three or four. This is about exposure and fun. I do have a mini soundboard and can accommodate a plug in CD player so play along with or sing to. Any way, great to hear from you again. let people know about it and have them give me a call. thanks
